Montreal's sexy night spot, Muzique, tried to be funny by sending out an invite from their Facebook page that read, "NO FAT GIRLS ALLOWED". It went out like an earthquake at a buffet line and fatties around the globe are in a tizzy.
The Montreal Gazette reports
that the “NO FAT GIRLS ALLOWED!!!!!” ;) didn't go over well with the Canadians. Muzique's Facebook invite was actually promoting a birthday party for one of the club's owners and done purely for humorous intent. The club did eventually pulled the invite... after the event. LOL
Whoopi frikken doo... clubs around the world judge their clientele based on looks, dress, and social class. That is how clubs and promoters control the vibe for the club. Sure it is "illegal", but that's life. You think they have lines out in front of clubs because they are full? It's a simple tool for client selection. If you don't want to stand in line try a different club... just don't cry me a river.
"Everybody knows. (Clubs) are selective," Stefano Apostolakos, owner of Montreal promotions company SMAN Productions, told the Gazette, adding, "(Discrimination) comes with the right to refuse entrance…[but] they'll never tell you you can't come in because of your looks."
Throughout the ages people have been judged by their looks... this is nothing new. People are initially attracted to others looks, it's a simple fact. Don't think that being thin is all that desirable either. There are more chubby chasers out there than bulimic bangers. Kik and scream about it all you want, but it is a reality. There is nothing wrong with being fat, who cares. All that matters in life is that you are happy and comfortable with yourself.
