Looks like the nation's IQ just dropped a few points.. the Jersey Shore reality show set another TV ratings record! 

MTV's juiced up drunken mess of reality show drew 5.5 million viewers Thursday, setting a new series record. Season 2 premiered two weeks ago to 5.3 million viewers, Shore's previous high.

Last week saw a slight dip to 5.03 million viewers. Probably the Ronnie-Sammie "Sweetheart" reunion and subsequent explosion in Thursday's episode boosted the viewers. Or maybe it was the failed MVP night, which resulted in the chicken cutlet/grenades incident.. LOL!

"Jersey Shore" hit a 5.3 rating in MTV's core 12-34 demographic, edging Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance" and CBS' "Big Brother" for the third straight week.

Meanwhile, "Big Brother" pulled in 7.9 million total viewers, beating out the "So You Think You Can Dance" finale, which drew 7.2 million viewers, up 33 percent from last week.

Once again, douchebags reign supreme!
